Our Baby is Here!

Our baby boy decided to make his debut on Saturday morning, at 37 weeks and 3 days of gestation. For purposes of this blog, I will most likely call him CJ or Jim or something like that (I would refer to him by his middle name like I do Liam, but his middle name is James, which I think will only cause confusion in the long run since it’s the pseudonym last name I go by here).

I really hope to continue blogging, but I know that it will probably be unlikely that I write or read anything in the blogging realm for a good while. Hopefully we will establish a new routine and normal pace of life in the weeks to come as a family, which will allow me to get back on here.

Thank you so much for those of you who were praying for me throughout my pregnancy and who were praying for little CJ. My family and I would sure appreciate continued prayer as well as we adjust to life as it is now. Please pray especially for Liam. He really loves his brother, but I can see that the adjustment is hard on him.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.”

  1. Congratulations! We are so grateful to God for His provision of health & pray for quick restoration from delivery. CJ is already so loved & I can’t wait to meet him!

  2. Wonderful news! Hope everyone is healthy and thriving (as much as one can thrive through sleepless newborn nights).

Eliana watched the Daniel Tiger episodes about welcoming Baby Margaret to the family a LOT during that transitional time. Oh! And random tip someone gave us – when talking to Eliana, we referred to Adeline as “your sister” as much as possible so she’d have a sense of ownership over her relationship. Not sure how much of a difference it made, but I’m throwing it out there just in case it’s just the thing.

I’ll definitely be praying big brother can figure out life in his new role. Love you! Let me know how else we can be praying for you β™₯️

    1. Thank you! We actually called CJ “baby brother” early on, and Liam still calls him that most of the time. It’s so sweet. He’s turning out to be a good big brother. He just doesn’t like when the baby cries. But that goes for all of us. 🀣

      1. I’m pretty tired, but the adjustment has not been as hard as it was with my firstborn, so I’m grateful for that. I’ll be happy to get into a routine though. How are you?

  4. Congratulations Colleen! 🎊 I will be praying for you and both your boys. I hope you can get lots of snuggles and sweet cuddles with them both. So glad things went well and you are on the road to settling in with your additional family member. I pray it goes smoothly and that you can rest and avoid any postpartum issues. God be praised for your blessings. Love to you all, Jeannette

  5. More congratulations from this corner, Colleen! Adjusting to two little ones can be a challenge. I remember being torn as to which child I should help when both needed my attention! By the time #3 came along, I had to give up keeping up and just do what I could! Somehow we all survived the exhaustion and mistakes; praise God for his grace!
